Two-Start Thursdays! Championship Edition

Here we are! It took almost 24 weeks, but we survived the 2017 Fantasy baseball season and look forward to our final week of match ups. Some of you might be competing for a championship (hopefully i’ll be joining you!), and some of you may be trying to fight off the dreaded last place finish. Don’t forget – With the expanded rosters it is kind of tough to predict starting pitching from week to week, guys are being inserted into the lineup randomly and tend to mess up other players two-starts.

No matter what, we got the two-start info that you need to end the season on a positive note! Here are the Round 3 two-starts.

Notes: Lance McCullers Jr. is DTD with arm fatigue and might miss a few starts. Brad Peacock or Mike Fiers will be filling in for the time being. Double check the rotation Sunday

Ian Kennedy is also DTD and might miss one or two starts. Check the rotation on Sunday and see if he still gets the call or not.

*These are based off of current rotations as of September 14th. These are subject to change and will be updated accordingly*

*Park rating: Green = Pitcher friendly, Red = Hitter Friendly, No color = Neutral*

**Adam Wainwright, StL vs.CIN – Sept 19 @PIT – Sept 24

** Wainwright is on the DL and might not make a return to the line up. Check his updates.

Mike Clevinger, CLE – 3.21 ERA – 1.27 WHIP – 127 Ks

Clevinger has been on a tear lately, winning all 4 of his latest outings. He has pitched into the 6th inning in every game but one, and has allowed 1 run total through those starts. His 28:8 K:BB during that span is also spectacular. Given the Tribes amazing 21 game win streak, plus Mikes RP eligibility, he should be in every line up for his next two-starts.

German Marquez, COL – 4.41 ERA – 1.37 WHIP – 137 Ks

Marquez has been an okay arm throughout the season for the Rockies — 8.26 K/9 and 2.72 BB/9 — but has been given a shit run of matchups. 2 of his last 3 outings have been against the surging Diamondbacks and the other against the league leading Dodgers. I’m mostly excited about the next 2 starts because of who the Rockies are playing (@SF and @SD), mostly because they are away from Coors field and against poor teams. I believe he will be a fantasy steal this week. Grab him.

Jose Berrios, MIN – 3.94 ERA – 1.17 WHIP – 123 Ks

Berrios has been a riveting young arm throughout the entire season, but his inconsistency has driven his owners mad. He seems to pitch great one night and then look completely horrible the next. His numbers are looking pretty decent — 8.5 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9 — but he needs to be able to deliver on a more regular basis. I would still through Berrios out there in a two-start week.

This is week is a tricky one for me. I am entering the Championship game for the second year in a row, but am matched up against an unusual rotation. My opponent doesn’t use relief pitchers but instead fills ALL of his relief spots with starters. I am going to match his starts for the week and let me offence carry me to a victory! I am using Nola, Giolito, Marquez, Cotton and Farmer (some risky plays but I need to pull out all the stops), and hopefully that will be enough to win the ships!

Good luck to all the final match ups out there! Thank you for following this years two-starts pitchers, we are looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
